Lesson: Don't Get Your Hopes Up

Well, the motorcycle may not happen. That's what I get for getting my hopes up, I guess.

Without getting into the gory details, it looks like the Harley dealer and the Boys and Girls Clubs may not have communicated the terms of the deal clearly. My understanding was that the bid price was the "out the door" price. The dealerships called me and said I'm responsible for all the taxes and everything else. If that's the case, then this is a no-go.

I'm looking at this as a win-win. If there are no hidden charges (over and above the extra 3% already added on), then I get a new Harley. If there ARE extra charges, then I don't get the bike, but that means I'm much closer to getting the Ferrari.

Go me!

We ARE the same man in two different countries!

Totally win-win and I may be the only other one in the world that really gets that!

Well "much closer" may mean different things to the two of us . . .

Chackster,

Please read and spread the word. This is complete bullshit. Sorry for having to post it on your blog, but I need exposure. The MSM has been ignoring this deal for over 1 week. The first link is the original article. The second and third contain information regarding the protest. Can you believe the UK had to report this and not the USA? We have the English commenting and calling us pussies for taking this behavior from our elected officials.

Folks, the previous comment is from a friend of mine, and he's very passionate about this issue. I'm afraid I don't know enough about it to endorse what he's saying, but it's a least worth a further look. Be careful, you might not like what you see.
