Thought for the Day

When someone says to you, "Basically, you are correct," it can mean one of only three things:

  1. Either they think you are too stupid to understand the full explanation, or
  2. They are too lazy to take the time to explain it to you, or
  3. They don't quite understand it either.

Or they think you're wrong, but they think you can only have minimal impact on the outcome of the subject matter.

Or they like the word basically.
